The University of Münster Centre of Applied Economic Research Münster (CAWM) focuses on transportation, housing, energy and resource economics. The centre provides empirical analyses for ministries, enterprises, foundations and associations. It is a key part of the University’s multi-faceted energy-related research. The University of Münster will be partner of the largest research initiative in the energy transformation, the Kopernikus projects, and coordinates SmartEnergy.NRW, a research network initiated and supported by the North-Rhine Westphalian Ministry of Economic Affairs. Like the Potsdam Institute, Münster will be a partner of the Kopernikus energy project, the largest research initiative on the energy transformation of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The Münster University recently coordinated the work of the energy expert committee of the German Government to monitor the energy transformation.
