Jay Weatherill was Premier of South Australia from 2011 to 2018, establishing the state as the nation's clean energy leader, dramatically cutting the state's carbon emissions and opening new business opportunities.

His fierce advocacy for clean energy provoked opposition, most famously when he went head-to-head with then Energy Minister, Josh Frydenberg, in a garage in suburban Adelaide, arguing the case for what South Australia had achieved.

After six months out of the top job, Mr Weatherill will give his first public address on this topic, reflecting on the lessons of his time in office and how South Australia's achievements could point the way forward for the transition to clean energy around the country.

This event is jointly hosted by the Australian Wind Alliance, The Australian-German Climate and Energy College and the Energy Transition Hub.
