Dr. José Luis Vicente Vicente
José Luis Vicente Vicente is a post-doctoral reseacher in the working group Sustainable Resource Management and Global Change at the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC, Berlin, Germany). He studied Environmental Sciences at the University of Salamanca (Spain). During his PhD Dr. José Luis Vicente Vicente worked in Andalusia (Spain), Italy and Scotland assessing the effects of the agricultural management practices on CO2 emissions. In 2017 his PhD Thesis has been awarded the best PhD Thesis in mitigation of climate change in agriculture in Spain.
He is an environmental scientist focused on negative emission technologies and their impacts on ecosystem services. His work has been focused on soil organic carbon sequestration and organic carbon dynamics in soil. Currently he is working assessing the impacts of different land-based negative emission technologies and also on carbon dioxide capture and utilization.
